Boron minerals are natural compounds containing different amounts of boron oxide in their structures. There are more than 230 different boron minerals in nature. The most commercially important boron minerals are; Tincal, Colemanite, Kernite, Ulexite, Pandermite, Borasite, Szaybelite and Hydroboracite. The main boron minerals transformed into high value-added products at international quality standards by Eti Maden, the World Boron Leader, are; Tincal, Colemanite and Ulexite.

Known boron deposits in Turkey, which has 73% of the world's boron reserves; Eskişehir, Kütahya and Balıkesir.

Boric acid is a weak acid of boron. Its chemical formula is written as H3BO3. It is found in water-soluble form as a white powder. Boric acid is obtained by reacting colemanite ore with sulfuric acid or borax with a mineral acid.
