Calcination and Roasting is the process of heating an ore to high temperature in a gas atmosphere without melting. Calcination is mostly applied to sulphide ores and prepares them for subsequent metallurgical processes.

Some mines and mineral ores in nature are generally known for their sulfur content. Efficient processing of these sulfur ores makes a great contribution to the economy. In order to make sulfur ores recoverable by hydrometallurgical methods, we establish Ore Calcination and SO2 Absorption Facilities specially designed according to the raw material minerals.

Process solutions provided by ASOS for the Calcination and Absorption Plant:

  • Pre-Grinding and Feeding Units,
  • Highly Efficient Specially Designed Calcination Units,
  • Energy-saving Cooler Unit,
  • Flue Gas Purification and SO2 Absorption Units
  • Obtaining Final Solid Product by SO2 Absorption (CaSO₄, (NH₄)₂SO₄, Na₂SO₄)
  • Special Transportation and Transportation Units,
  • Automatic Process Control Unit that Provides Control of the Entire Facility from a Single Point
